The small print
Privacy & Cookies
The short, honest version of how we handle your details. No legalese, no tricks.
Who we are
Gerard Wynne Electrical ("we", "us") is an electrical contractor based in Baldoyle, Dublin, serving Dublin, Meath and Kildare. We are the data controller for this website. For anything relating to your data, call 087 253 0529 and we'll sort it out directly.
What we collect and why
When you send our quote form we receive the details you type in: your name, phone number, email address if you give one, and what the job involves. We use them for one thing: contacting you about your enquiry and preparing your quote. If you give an email address, you'll also get a short confirmation email so you know the enquiry arrived.
If you arrived from one of our adverts, the enquiry also records which advert or search brought you here. That helps us understand which of our ads actually lead to real work.
In GDPR terms, we handle enquiry details because you've asked us to quote for work (steps taken at your request before a contract). Advertising cookies are different: those run only with your consent.
We don't sell your details, share them with marketers, or add you to mailing lists.
Who handles it for us
Like most websites, we use a few services to run this one, and they only process data on our instructions: the site is hosted on Vercel, enquiry emails are delivered by Resend, our email provider, and enquiries are kept in a secure customer records database run for us by Neon on servers in Europe. If you accept measurement cookies, Google processes those measurements for us. Nobody else gets your details.
Cookies and advertising
We advertise on Google. To measure whether those adverts work, the site can use Google's measurement cookies, but only after you choose "That's fine" on the cookie notice. If you choose "Essential only", no advertising cookies are set and the site works exactly the same.
These measurements tell us things like "someone who clicked an ad asked for a quote". They are aggregated by Google; we don't see who you are from them.
You can change your mind at any time: choose "Cookie preferences" in the footer of any page and the notice comes back, with cookies switched off until you decide again. Your choice itself is remembered by your browser, not on our servers.
How long we keep enquiries
Quote enquiries arrive with us by email and are kept in our customer records database, which is encrypted and accessible only to us. We keep them as long as they're useful for handling your job, our records and our legal obligations as a registered contractor, then delete them.
Your rights
Under GDPR you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it or delete it, object to how we use it, or withdraw any consent you've given. Call or write and we'll do it, no forms and no fee. If you feel we've handled your data badly, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie).
